Overview

The Arab Western Summit of Skills (AWS) is a first of its kind meeting of the professional Arab and European/American individuals and institutions dedicated to promoting civic and economic infrastructure development in the Arab world. To be held in Berlin on January 17-18, 2004, the AWS will bring together Arab professionals living in the Western world and the Middle East, as well as government policy makers and representatives of international NGO’s to create a platform for developing concrete project ideas to further this goal. Building on the success of the Extraordinary Meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Amman, Jordan in June, 2003, the AWS will seek to systematically tap intellectual resources across the Atlantic and in the Middle East for the development of sustainable civil society structures in the Arab world.
